MI Smartwatch Revolve Active initial impressions

So, today I’m gonna be talking about the new MI Smartwatch Revolve Active. A new smartwatch from the house of Xiaomi. Yes, I’m really excited about it since the last Xiaomi watch was quite expensive but yeah this one is Comparatively
cheaper and offer a lot of exciting features especially spo2 monitoring which is like the buzzword right now like spo2 monitoring is very important right now and this watch does have that. So, yeah
today in this blog let's go ahead and talk about it in detail.

ALEXA SUPPORT

The watch does support Alexa built-in so you can talk to Alexa directly via this watch which is a very handy feature so For example if you want to control your smart home appliances lights bulbs or any other things or if you want to you know just ask Alexa about the weather you can do that right from the watch now.

DISPLAY

Let me tell you about the display of this watch. So this smartwatch comes with a 1.39 inches Glass fiber-reinforced polyamide AMOLED display. Yes, AMOLED is the main term over here because of which you get those deeper blacks that great contrast ratio the colors pop out and the display gets bright enough to use in outer sunny conditions as well it's an excellent AMOLED panel it also supports always-on display which is a very handy feature but the always-on display will consume more battery so you have to sacrifice battery life for always-on display now this display is sharp as well it has a PPI of 326 it is not a pixelated display it is a sharp and pixel-dense display which I do appreciate.

HEALTH FEATURES

  •  HEART RATE & SPORTS MODE

First up it comes with a heart rate sensor the heart rate sensor is extremely important for your normal day-to-day activities, as well as your workouts. Now Xiaomi has got the very good heart rate sensors because of their Mi band series and this one is no exception to that talking about workouts there are a lot of workout modes in this smartwatch if you play badminton, cricket, swimming walking, outdoor running. whatever you want to track you can do it with this smartwatch so in terms of fitness you are completely covered with this smartwatch comes with a lot of fitness features.

  •  SPO2

Now as I said at the start of the blog one of the feature that I really like is the spo2 sensor so during this pandemic it is very important to keep tabs on your spo2 levels and you can do that with this smartwatch now what about the accuracy of the spo2 sensor so Xiaomi said that the sensor is pretty accurate but they will advise you to stick to medical-grade equipment because that will give you the best results so if you want extremely accurate data and if you want to take some decision based on the spo2 levels then you should stick to medical-grade equipment and that is highly recommended and I guess this goes for every smartwatch out there.

NOTIFICATIONS AND CALLING

Apart from that, you can get all your notifications on the smartwatch you can also choose the individual apps from which you want your notifications by default the notifications will be turned off so you'll have to go into the settings and turn them on and select each individual application as for calls you cannot answer calls on the smartwatch but you can just reject the calls now this is a feature that is absent on almost all the budget smartwatches that you cannot answer calls now this should be a very basic feature which they should incorporate because that would complete the whole smartwatch experience right now this is just a fitness band on steroids, it does not have the ability to answer the calls like that feature is definitely missing over here.

USER INTERFACE

Now I really like the UI of this smartwatch it is fast and responsive and does not feel laggy at all as compared to the Redmi band is a much better experience in terms of responsiveness also the display is extremely smooth and I love this OLED panel like AMOLED makes all the difference in the world and I really like the display on the smartwatch.

BATTERY

If you're wondering about battery life Xiaomi said that it should last for 14 days in a typical use case but I'm pretty sure you are not going to get that, they clearly mentioned that if you use always-on display the battery life may be reduced by half like literally half so if you use an always-on display that is going to consume a lot of battery life now in terms of charging it comes with a magnetic charger and it will take less than two hours to charge up the watch completely so as charging is sorted with the magnetic charger.

DESIGN & BUTTONS

In terms of design, I really like this the smartwatch comes with a couple of buttons one is a home button and the other one is a sport button so the home button will be used to go back and go home and the sports button is a dedicated button to quickly go to your workouts so if you want to quickly start a workout just press the support button to choose your workout and you will be good to go now this watch is also built really well it does not feel cheap at all but it does not feel too premium as well it's a good and solid build quality but not too premium either.

WATCH FACES

All right it is time to talk about one of the main things and that is watch faces so built-in you will get four to five watch faces but on the application, you will get over 100 watch faces so you can download those watch faces and set them and if you have a custom photo or something you can set that as well so in terms of watch faces you are completely sorted in fact you have a lot of options like too many options.

CONCLUSION

All in all, I am impressed with this smartwatch Xiaomi has put together a very good package 8999 is a fair price for this smartwatch. This was my initial impression about the smartwatch that is the Mi smartwatch revolve active.
